The team at TSP Projects are celebrating being awarded two prestigious accolades at the York Business Awards.
More than 300 people attended the black-tie ceremony in November, held at York Racecourse and hosted by BBC presenter Colin Hazelden-Brice. The high-profile annual event culminated with TSP Projects being named Business of the Year, beating competition from big-name law, technology and architect firms.
The team had already taken the Business Innovation of the Year crown in recognition of how our specialist working group is raising the bar for the engineering industry with its implementation of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) software. In addition to a written entry, members of the group were put through their paces by a University of York category judge and had to demonstrate our groundbreaking use of the technology.
The judges were impressed by the level of innovation, the scale of our business and our impact on the city of York and beyond. Our business employs more than 400 designers, engineers, architects, planners and project managers to support major infrastructure projects across the UK, many of which are based at our York HQ.
The award wins topped off a highly successful York Business Week where TSP Projects opened its doors to businesses across the region with its first ever Company Open Day. All available spaces were booked for this successful event which was attended by local businesses, communications firms and local government representatives. Delegates learned about the flagship Gatwick project including the chance to get to grips with Virtual Reality goggles and enjoyed a fascinating insight into the geology of the Vale of York.
