As part of ongoing works for Tata Steel in Corby, TSP Projects have recently completed repairs to the furnace pits walls within the main steel plant at the Northamptonshire facility, working with subcontractors Stirling Lloyd.

Taking place within an extremely restricted site with no vehicular access, the repair works were carried out during planned plant shut down, using an overhead crane to manoeuvre the materials into place.

Owing to strong coordination between the design and engineering teams at TSP Projects and Tata steel, works were completed ahead of programme on 1 August, with the furnace scheduled to be relit in the following weeks.

Speaking about the project, Head of Construction and Site Services team leader at TSP Projects Ian Pashley commented, ‘we’re really pleased with the outcome of the project at Corby. In such a constrained site, repair works are always a challenge but the communication between our teams ensured everything went smoothly with minimal disruption.’

Passing on his thanks after completion, Works Engineer at the Corby Facility Paul Ilko remarked on the continuity of services from the TSP Projects team, adding, ‘I am glad to see that the change of ownership hasn’t affected the professional way you go about your work.
