June 23 marks International Women in Engineering Day and here at TSP Projects we’ve been getting involved with showing our support for this fantastic cause. Run by the Women’s Engineering Society, the event has grown enormously over the years and has now received UNESCO patronage.

Managing Director, Craig Scott, shared his thoughts on LinkedIn about the importance of the day,

I am proud to say that at TSP Projects we have a group of highly motivated female engineers and technical staff delivering a whole range of projects from complicated airport and railway interchanges to iconic industrial structures. We have an active Women In Business group who encourage women in engineering externally through our interaction with schools and universities and internally through initiatives which help all our staff be the best that they can be.

If I could give anyone some career advice, male or female, it would be to go with your passions and to grab your opportunities with both hands. If you love maths, science, technology, then engineering could be the path for you. Give it that extra moment of consideration.

Staff from across our offices got involved and pledged their support to promoting diversity and inclusion and raising the bar for women engineers.

With gender roles progressively changing as we step into the future, we want to ensure that TSP Projects have no barriers for women succeeding in the Engineering field. If you’d like to know what we can offer, take a look at our careers page for our current opportunities.
